Aliyu’s first educational experience was at Central Primary School, Kuta, Minna and Sultan Primary School, Sokoto. After his primary education, Alhaji Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu went to the College of Arts and Arabic Studies, Sokoto where he graduated in 1974.

He proceeded to the College of Education in Sokoto, where he obtained National Certificate of Education. After his teachers training, Alhaji Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu went further to Bayero University, Kano and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States of America where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education and PhD., in Public and International Affairs respectively.
